You can buy a 24h ticket for 990 HUF. Citizens of EU, EEA Member States or Switzerland, aged 65+ can travel free public transportation except the airport bus (100E).

When you get off the train you have to turn right in the underway to get to the buses, as seen on the map below. There will be signs as well.
The buses will leave the Park between 20:30 and 22:15 both evenings back to the train station and the train will bring you back to Nyugati Railway station.

In Budapest
Usually crowded. You are supposed to validate a ticket whenever you change to another vehicle (except in the metro). Controllers are rather unfriendly. Last metro and tram are at around 23.15 p.m., but they’re replaced by night buses on the most frequent lines. Trams 4 and 6 goes night and day.
One single ticket costs 450 HUF (1.1 Euro). We propose to buy a book of 10 tickets for 4000 HUF (10 Euro) at the Airport when you arrive. In the city the easiest to buy tickets is by metro stations. On the buses usually you can buy ticket from the driver too, it’s slightly more expensive (600 HUF). More info here.
BudapestGO public transport app.
Ticket machines for the public transportation in Budapest are always purple.
Taxis are yellow. Taxi companies:
City Taxi: (+36-1)-2-111- 111 (English),
Budapest Taxi: (+36-1)-7-777-777,
Főtaxi: (+36-1)-2-222-222.
It’s recommended to call a taxi by phone in the city or via mobile app e.g Bolt.
All official taxi companies have the same fix tarif. Basic fee 1100 HUF( 2,7 Euro), fare 440 HUF/km (1,1 Euro).
You can use the Uber app, too, but Uber in Hungary is a regular taxi company, works with the regular taxi tarif. You can pay by card in the taxi.
Even if it is not allowed, some private taxis still exist and they are also yellow, so beware of them, as they can charge very high amounts (especially if they see you’re a tourist).

Weather
In the Park it’s usually more cold and windy than in Budapest. The nights can be chilly, so please bring some warm clothes with you.
Currency
The local currency in Hungarian Forints (HUF). In Budapest, almost everywhere you can pay by card. In the biggest shops, you can pay with Euro, but the exchange rate is usually very bad. In the Park you can pay the registration/dinner with Euros if necessary. In Budapest, bank cards are widely accepted and there is many ATM-s in the center of the city. There are some ATM-s in Albertirsa too.
To change money we suggest the center of the city e.g. around Nyugati Railway station there are several exchange places where the rates are better.
You can exchange money in Budapest at currency exchange offices, especially in the city center. There are several around Nyugati Railway Station as well. In Albertirsa, there are no exchange offices, and in Cegléd, there are only a few in the town center.
Banks generally offer worse exchange rates.
If you come to the Park or Albertirsa directly from the Airport you can change money at the Airport BUT the rate is not good. At the airport it’s better if you pay by bankcard when you buy the bus tickets.
Safety
In Budapest: Beware of pick pockets. Never take a taxi which doesn’t belong to a taxi company. Pedestrians always lose against car drivers and bikers, therefore watch your steps.
Prices in general
A coke, a mineral water and all kinds of soft drinks are around 400 HUF (1-1,5 EUR) in the supermarket. A box of cigarettes is between 1000-1500 HUF (3-4 EUR). The taxi is around 5000 HUF in the town (12 EUR). The price of food in restaurants are very different. You can find prices from 3000 HUF to infinity, but for around 4000 HUF (10 EUR) you can have a good lunch or dinner.
Cigarettes/Tobacco
There are designated shops called Nemzeti Dohánybolt (National Tobacco Shop) the only places where you can buy cigarettes or tobacco.
The closest supermarket and tobacco shop to the Park is at Albertirsa (9km).
